Today is the day! Our special day, BREWERY DAY! Aww yeah!
I’ve been overlooking a bunch of different breweries and checking out the reviews to plan which one we are going to go to. We were supposed to have a whole lot more time than 4 or so hours to spend in Denver but another oh well, we have to work with what we got. At this point I don’t know why we agreed to only going to one brewery, but that’s what we did. I should have fought for a longer day, but hey, that’s ok, Bruce and I made it work to the best of our abilities. It turned out to be a lot of fun. Next time we’ll be spending a lot more time on our brewery hopping. So what we did to make this a great day was to pick the one brewery that we wanted to visit the most and that was… drumroll…
Great Divide Brewing Company. Located at 2201 Arapahoe Street, Denver, CO, 80205.
This place was super cool. At first as we jogged up to it (we jumped out of the backseat of the car when we were stopped at a red light) and thought, is this it?! There’s a sign that sticks out on corner and on one side of the building there is a patio area, but not too much more. Once you walk in, you get hit with the bar right away. It’s not the biggest bar setting but it really works for the space. You approach the bar and behind that is the brewery. To the left if you walk passed the bar top you can sit at some high tops and overlook the brewery itself. It was really cool.
The beer was absolutely delicious. You’re welcome to try samples of whatever beer they offer. We tried 5 different kinds. Denver Pale Ale, Titan, Hercules, Velvet Yeti, and a unique Nadia Kali Hibiscus Saison. It was bubbly with hints of floral and sweetness, very tasty.
We grabbed a couple souvenirs as keepsakes from our quick trip. A Denver Pale Ale pin, a bottle opener, an I Believe Yeti decal and stickers.
They also offer their brewed beer to take home. Grab a 6 pack or twelve pack, or you can even mix and match your cases if you’d like. The breweries near us don’t offer that so I thought that was neat.
Bucket List item just checked off!!! I can’t believe how awesome Colorado is!! Lots of exclamation points because this state is all that. Honestly I’ve only been in Colorado for a few hours and I’m in LOVE. First off, let me tell you that this state smells like marijuana. I’m pretty sure I could smell it even before we entered the state, haha.
Bdubs earlier was amazing and as we were driving too and from, we noticed a lot of green crosses. Not going to lie, that makes me so happy!! I never knew how long it was going to take to get the chance to experience legal marijuana and actually see a dispensary. I felt extremely paranoid just thinking about stopping and checking a place out. Actually, we almost didn’t make it to one which would have sucked. While we were down in Colorado Springs finishing up dinner we looked for different places to stop and the only place open was in Denver. All I thought was… awesome, what time does that place close and how long does it take us to get to Denver. We luckily had 2 hours. The place didn’t close till 10 and if we left right away (from Bdubs) we would make it. Whoop!
It’s 8:30pm, we’re in Denver and we’re pulling down this dark ass street following our GPS hoping the place we are going to is actually legit. Again, I’m paranoid as hell at this point. Going to a store to buy some weed is not something you can openly do, at least not where I live. One we don’t have stores like this in Florida and two, it’s completely ILLEGAL in Florida. If you live in a state where it’s still illegal, I bet you can imagine how I was feeling.
We finally get to where we are supposed to be and as you drove up the road, even with the windows up, you could smell heaven! I knew we were in the right place. A giant green cross, people standing outside, others walking in and out, ALL smiling with big grins on their faces. Yep, I was in the right place. Welcome to Medicine Man!!
You walk in the door and right away a security guard is there to check your ID. Clearly you have to be 21 years of age. ID’s checked and we’re all good. The guy was super nice. He handed us a brochure and an informational card. The brochure shared the rules, a few key tidbits of information and FAQs. The informational card discussed their edibles. I’ll never forget one of the things he said, you can smoke as much marijuana as you want, you will not die and when it comes to edibles, follow the rules and don’t be a fool. Take small doses until you see and feel how your body reacts. You’ll be fine no matter what, but the guy shared his story, he took a bunch of edibles at once before seeing how he reacted and he took a really long nap. HAHA!! He was like, “Yeah my friends said I was passed for a long time like 15 hours. Oops.” I definitely got a laugh from that.
Everyone who works there is extremely laid back. I had to ask the obvious and see how much they loved their jobs. As expected, I was NOT disappointed. It’s basically one of the best jobs ever! Even the customers coming in and out were cool. It’s got to be the fact of living in a state where weed isn’t frowned upon.
We purchased two different types, Purple Dream and Platinum OG. We picked two Indica types. We chose to go for a body buzz more so than Sativa, a buzz more felt in the head and face. At least that’s how I think about the way it feels.
Now it’s 10pm and we’re at our hotel. Holy hell, don’t go to Colorado without a plan for your hotel. We honestly have been planning this trip out at the last minute while we are on the road. Tonight we could barely find a hotel. Bruce and I weren’t willing to part with not staying in Denver for more than an hour. It wasn’t gonna happen and thankfully we got a place to stay.
Our last resort was this place located in Longmount about 30 or so minutes away from Denver. It is pretty shitty the hotel doesn’t allow marijuana in the building. Ok cool it’s legal in the state, hmm yeah ok. Very dumb, but we’ll follow the rules. We’re still smoking even if I have to step outside and smoke it in the car each time. We have to follow the rules because we agreed upon our purchase and we’re not about breaking any laws or pissing off the hotel that we were lucky to find.
I could already feel it even after just one hit. I felt it creeping up on me, with tingles in my body, the feeling of relaxation and floating on the clouds. The buds we’re fluffy and oh so tasty!
I don’t know if it was because I’ve never tried these kinds before or if it was because each kind was so good but I had an incredible buzz!!
Colorado Springs & Denver! FINALLY! Thanks to my dad we added Colorado Springs to our agenda. We originally planned to go straight to Denver but a cool story lead to a jog down to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. My dad took a vacation to Colorado one year and they ate Buffalo Wild Wings where they sat outside looking up at Pikes Peak. He told me they watched the afternoon storm roll in at the top of the mountain and that it was a sight to see! That’s when I knew we had to do the same thing.
Well we didn’t get to see the storm since we drove into the state around dinner time but it was still an incredible view of the mountains. Plus it’s Tuesday so at Buffalo Wild Wings it’s half off traditional wings!
We visited the Bdubs, location: Buffalo Wild Wings, 2905 Geyser Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, 80806.
It was delicious! The service was great and the restaurant was packed! One of the best times eating at that chain of restaurants and our wings were large and saucy. Perfect! Our waitress brought us plenty of lemons and always helped us if we needed anything. The view was incredible, one of the best I’ve seen. You could completely see the mountains and it felt like you were super close. I’ve only ever seen the Appalachian Mountains since this is my first trip out west and these were incredible!!! I took a lot of pictures but made sure to spend the most of my time actually seeing them with my own eyes. Beautiful. So what’s for dinner?!
Mom – Medium traditional spicy garlic wings and a side Caesar salad.
Amy – Small traditional Teriyaki wings and fried pickles.
Bruce and I – 2 large traditional hot wings and an ultimate beef nacho.
& lots of water with lemon!

I’ve never gone farther west than Chicago and today we’re officially heading towards the west. We stopped to see the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Let me tell you, the Arch is a whole lot bigger than what it looks like in pictures, oh my. My mom and Amy have gone up in the Arch before but Bruce and I passed. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it and I really didn’t want to feel claustrophobic while I was up there. I took some great pictures and it was pretty fun to see it in person so that works for me!
All of us were hungry and needed a pick me up from all the gas station snacks and Starbucks we had throughout the day, so we got food at a local bar called Joey B’s. It was recommended and real close to where we parked, because of that we decided to try it out. The place was cute. Nice windows to look outside and they had an outdoor patio area which was cool. Above the bar was a massive list of shots and they probably had any kind of shot you wanted.
Mom had the Cowboy Burger, Amy had a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, Bruce had the Jalapeno Burger and I chose the Firecracker Chicken Sandwich. Bruce and I shared the burger and sandwich with each other. That’s just something we seem to do. Always order two dishes and split them. That way we are actually trying two things from the menu.
Our meal was good, not great. Service was terrible because our waitress sucked at her job. We all had water with lemon and it took 15 minutes for her to bring us the lemons after the water came out. They use small plastic cups that don’t hold much and when your waitress is super slow, you barely get any refills. Numerous times we watched our water sit on the table empty.
I felt like the food could have been better. Amy’ Philly Steak and wings looked the best. My mom said the Cowboy Burger was greasy which caused it to be extremely messy. The buns were so soaked and mushy that she tossed those and ate the burger with a fork and knife. I love a messy burger but a fork and knife shouldn’t be needed. The burgers came with a cheddar jalapeno soft cheese that was very strange. Almost like a runny but gritty mashed potato. Both my mom and Bruce scrapped the cheese off since we didn’t like the burgers with the cheese on it. It was odd. Overall, it’s a nice place but I probably wouldn’t eat there again nor recommend it to anyone, unless they are interested in going to a bar for some drinks. I’m telling you the shot list was huge.
Today we hit the road instead of leaving tomorrow afternoon. We had a super special breakfast and an activity planned… which was LUNCH!
I’ve called lunch an activity because it’s was at the best restaurant EVER! Hands down the best and “dopest” place you can eat. Why did I just say dopest? Well I love to toss out movie quotes all the time, and because the food is just that good! So that was from a James Franco’s line in Pineapple Express. Now, if you like food and stir fry, you’ll love Mongo. That’s my nickname for it, Mongo. What it’s really called is BD’s Mongolian BBQ. UGH! It’s delicious, fun and an engaging atmosphere where you make a dish you want, all while being in front of the coolest Mongolian grill around. Your food is cooked at a super high heat, flat top grilled with all the fixings you decide.
Don’t worry, because I know some of you are thinking, I don’t know how to cook or what I’d even make. That’s okay… really no worries. They have many different recipe cards you can follow to help you create a dish that you will enjoy. Trust me if you try it you’re going to LOVE it!
There are three options you can choose from, a single bowl, the single bowl with the soup and salad bar, or the unlimited bowl that includes all you can eat with the salad bar. I order the unlimited… That way I can stuff my bowls with food each time but I can also make two completely different dishes. Hell, we drive over and hour to eat at this restaurant so you bet I’m getting as much food as I can. They allow you to take your leftovers home. CRAZY
To go along with your stir fry, you can choose to also have white rice or brown rice, tortillas, and lettuce wraps. We usually go with the rice and tortillas but this time, since hey we’re on vacation, we chose all 4! It felt like a buffet. Haha!
From there you start with a bowl to fill. The first station is to add your proteins or the meat that you want to eat. The second station is all the vegetables and the third station is for your sauces and seasonings, the flavoring portion. So exciting!
My tip for you, don’t put the meat in first. Just don’t.
Pack the bowl with all your vegetables that you want and press that down into the bowl smashing it a little bit. Then you add the meat. Why? Well if you put the meat in the bowl first and the vegetables on top, as you fill the bowl it will overflow and the vegetable will start to slide and fall out of the bowl instead of stacking like you want. With the vegetables in first the meat(s) stick together better, almost making a cover over the vegetables. With that happening, you are able to really pile the meat up high and the more you can fit into the bowl the better.
Once you’ve filled the bowl you can choose your sauce and seasonings. At Mongo, they organize the sauces from less heat to high heat and they tell you the heat level of each sauce. There you don’t have to worry about trying sauces and not knowing how spicy they may be. I like to make one of my dishes spicy using chili garlic, buffalo sauce, and Kung Pao. YUM!
I love that place!! I have a shirt from there that says you pack the bowl, we’ll fire it up. So that’s what they actually do. After you pick your flavoring you step up to the last station where they’ll throw it onto the grill and cook it up for you, right in front of your eyes. It’s really cool to see the whole process and then enjoy your amazing food you just put together.
The ladies, being my mom and her friend Amy are expecting to be here to pick us up and pack the car around noon on Sunday but I bet they’ll be here earlier. I just want to scream, “Let’s get the hell out of here!” big laugh out loud right now. I’m crazy excited about tomorrow, can’t you tell?! Now, beforehand, Bruce and I have concentrated on building a bunch of breakfast sandwiches for the road. When I say a bunch, I mean a bunch, like 15 sandwiches. How awesome is that!?
In all honesty, it’s really been all of Bruce’s effort with a little of my help. He’s the one when it comes to making these. I love that guy and because of him, tomorrow comes with a bunch of tasty sandwiches. They taste better than McDonalds, the cheese is creamier, the egg is softer, the Canadian bacon is a little crispier and the whole sandwich is more fresh and delicious. That’s what you get for cooking your own food. Absolute perfection! Listed are the ingredients that we need to grab for these amazing sandwiches.

Homemade Egg McMuffin Recipe
Super simple and extremely delicious!
Ingredients for 4 servings
4 Kraft American Cheese
4 slices of Canadian bacon
4 English Muffins
Canola oil cooking spray (vegetable oil works as well)
½ cup of water
Silicone egg ring molds
Heat pan to medium/high heat and add your greased silicone mold to the pan. Crack your eggs into each mold. Use a chopstick or utensil to scramble the egg and season with salt and pepper. Slightly cook the eggs before adding the water to the pan. Add ¼ cup of the water, cover the pan and allow the eggs to cook through, about 5 minutes. Remove the eggs from the pan and place them on a paper towel.
Return the pan to medium/high heat and add the Canadian bacon. Cook until heated through and sides are browned. While the bacon is heating up, fold the cheese slices into smaller squares to fit on top of the sandwich. Remove the bacon from the pan and now it’s time to assemble. Yay! The fun part!
Place the slices of Canadian bacon on top of the eggs and the cheese goes on top of the bacon. Put the egg, bacon and cheese stack back into the pan. Add the rest of the water, ¼ cup to the pan and cover. While the cheese is melting, toast the English Muffins. Once the cheese has melted, remove from pan and place on the English Muffins. Boom!
It looks just like McDonald’s but it blows that processed sandwich out of the water. No more fast food breakfast for me and I bet you’ll feel the same way!

I’m pretty sure that I’m still in disbelief about our trip across the country to Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah! We’ll be visiting a lot of places throughout the whole 36 or so hour drive but those are the two places I’m truly looking forward to stopping and staying at and really getting to see what it’s all about.
JamCon 2017 road trip in T-MINUS… 4 DAYS!
We have all taken an extra day off to get our trip started a little early. When I say we, it will be Bruce, my mother, her friend Amy, and I. So, Instead of leaving Monday afternoon, we are now leaving the morning of Sunday the 18th. That is going to be pretty awesome because another day on the road should be fun. I can’t wait to get to Denver and check it out!!
We’re half way packed. I used to be a terrible procrastinator and would wait till the night before to pack my bag before a trip… well I’ve gotten a lot better. I’m half way there and I’m waiting for the laundry to finish so that I can knock that off our list. #goals
Now the To-Do List comes to play! Grocery shopping and something fun is coming to officially kick off this trip!! We’re going for an amazing lunch, but for the road and for breakfast, we are going to cook up a bunch of Homemade Egg McMuffins. You are going to love them! They taste a hell of a lot better than the processed sandwiches from McDonalds. I used to adore those. So that’s gotta say something!
Every year Jamberry has an International Conference where the Jamberry family comes together for all things Jamberry. There are trainings, parties, dinners, and a whole lot more. Last year it was at Disney World in Orlando, my first JamCon and this year it is where the home and heart of Jamberry is, Salt Lake City, Utah. I’m looking forward to my second JamCon and most of all, going out west to actually tour the headquarters of the best direct sales company in the world! Seeing where it all started and a behind the scenes look at the operations of the company is something I’ve been interested in since I’ve started.
Each year Jamberry sets a theme of what our conference is based around and this year, they chose FEARLESS! I adore this year’s theme. I like to say, be fearless in what sets your soul on fire. Now I didn’t come up with that but I truly love to follow that saying, almost as a motto. It’s so true. To be fearless is the best thing you can do for yourself. All of what is holding you back is inside of what you fear the most.

This year I have stepped out of my comfort zone in so many ways. I’ve done things I’ve never thought I would or could. I’ve proven to myself that no matter how hard the task or day may seem and be that if you take baby bites and small steps; you can tackle the biggest obstacles. You may need to work hard, but are we not already doing that every day?!
The theme has already had a personal effect on me. Let me tell you why. This conference I chose a higher course than what I did last year. The progression in my business is more than last year, my team is bigger and so is my love for this company, our products and everyone who is a part of all of it. I’m going to step up and go off to my trainings alone, while my girls are sticking together. When I say I’ll be alone, I mean having no one that I personally know to go to trainings with me. So with that said, I will have to mingle with new people that I’ve never met before. Another way I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and I can’t wait. This JamCon is going to be a big thing for me and for my business and I’m really excited for what is in store in Utah this year. There are a lot of new things coming, huge announcements and a look at what the future will be for Jamberry!
Now you don’t have to be in love with Jamberry for the whole FEARLESS theme to be something you
instill in your own life. Many people miss out on an opportunity for themselves simply because of being afraid. Fearing the unknown is scary but missing out on things where the chances many never arise again, is a whole lot scarier! Start in the act of being fearless. Each day, step out of your comfort zone even if it is just a little. A little goes a long way. When you would actually say no and walk away from an obstacle or opportunity… push passed that no and the fear and go for it.
This is a Thankful Thursday that is for sure. For the first time ever, I visited Favorite Farms, Inc. U-pick Farm in Dover, FL. I had the day off but Bruce didn’t so my mother and I took the trip to the farm for some really cheap but seriously fresh strawberries and one massive onion.
Right off the bat we drove in the back entrance. Whoops. We parked three different times and didn’t even grab the quart containers from the front entrance. Whoops. Luckily a lovely lady was getting ready to leave and gave us the containers she had so we got lucky. That won’t happen again.
I have never been to a farm to pick strawberries so I was intrigued with the whole process. Plus strawberries might be my favorite. There were tons and tons of aisles and it felt endless. I don’t even think we made it down more than four aisles each.
It was fun! A workout but fun! I bet there is a better way than always standing, bending, standing, squatting, bending. Lol! It was great to get the blood flowing, be out in the sun, and pick our own strawberries.
If you haven’t done something like this before and you ever get the chance, take it! It was way worth an hour drive. Nothing beat $.50/Quart. That’s only $5 for 10 Quarts or about 15 pounds.
It took us over an hour to clean cut and prep for freezing. I’m looking forward to making jams, smoothies, waffles, and enjoying the strawberries as they are!
